What We Believe

The Bible

We believe in the divine inspiration, inerrancy, and authority of the Bible.

 

The Trinity

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, sinless, conceived by the Holy Spirit; and born of the Virgin Mary.

 

Man & Salvation

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and is thus separated from God; that all are sinners in practice because of an inborn sinful nature.

We believe that the Lord Jesus shed His blood at Calvary, dying for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that He alone is our only hope of salvation.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God which man receives by faith, apart from works, when he receives the Lord Jesus by trusting fully in His Person and work; that he is thus born again by the Holy Spirit and becomes a child of God.

We believe that believers will maintain good works, not in order to be saved but because they are saved.

The Advocate & the Comforter

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of the Lord; in His ascension to heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate; that He will personally and visibly (bodily) return to this earth where He will rule and reign.

We believe that the Holy Spirit was given at Pentecost to abide permanently in the believer; that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; that He regenerates, seals, sanctifies, teaches, and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.

 

Evangelism & the Future

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ came to seek and to save the lost and commands us to go and make disciples both locally and worldwide.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust: the everlasting happiness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

 

 

The Church

We believe that Christ left two ordinances for His church: Baptism and The Lord’s Supper; that Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, symbolizing said believers union by faith with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, and that believers should receive this ordinance; that The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic memorial by which we corporately remember the person and work of the Lord Jesus as He requested in the use of the two symbols of the bread and the cup.
