There have already been many opportunities this week for us to live by faith in what this week’s memory verse says: “Righteous are You, O LORD, And upright are Your judgments” (Psalm 119:137). Every day we can either acknowledge all that God does flows from His own righteous nature or we can exalt ourselves before Him and assert our “rightness” and His “wrongness.” By God’s grace, as we live by faith in the LORD who is truly righteous, we are then in a position to make the connection between God’s righteousness and His revelation in the Bible. If God is righteous (all the time!) then His Word is righteous (all of it!). The test of our agreement with this this truth is not when we are predisposed to agree with God about something, but when it crosses our emotions, mind, or will. That is when it becomes evident that we in fact believe that God is righteous all the time and that therefore all His Word is righteous about all that it addresses.
